Embedded in standard material handling trucks designed for manual use, Driven by Balyo technology transforms them into autonomous vehicles, able to safely navigate and interact with their environment. Manual material handling trucks thus become robotic and can perform all kinds of tasks, from pallet moving to barcode scanning.
In line with the concepts of Logistics 4.0 and the Factory of the Future, our solution is fully connected to the customer environment (ERP, WMS, machines, doors, conveyors, tracking), and can be easily integrated into current industrial and logistics processes. For greater simplicity, our robotic trucks can still be used manually, enabling operators to regain control to perform a task at any time.
From automatic trucks (AGVs) to robotic trucks: more than evolution, this is a "Robolution"
The market for automatic trucks, usually known as AGVs (Automatic Guided Vehicles), has existed for decades. These automatic trucks/AGVs, tailor-made or produced small-scale, are capable of picking up and placing pallets or loads on the floor or at height in the same way as humans.
Formerly self-guided by ground wires or magnets, the majority of today's AGVs use laser reflector navigation systems. Although precise, automatic trucks/AGVs lack flexibility, and installing these systems remains very costly. A change in route, pick-up point or pallet placement requires a qualified surveyor to reconfigure the installation.
The customized design of these automatic trucks/AGVs also makes them difficult to maintain, as spare parts availability is more limited than for standard trucks manufactured in their thousands.
