Pioneering Automation in the Food Industry: BALYO Partners with Danone to Revolutionize Pallet Handling

In the highly demanding and fast-paced world of food and beverage manufacturing, supply chain efficiency is not just an operational goal; it is a critical competitive advantage. With more than 190 production sites globally, Danone stands as one of the largest and most respected food companies in the world, distributing its consumer products across nearly 120 countries. Operating at such a monumental, multinational scale requires a logistics infrastructure capable of flawless execution, continuous reliability, and maximum space utilization.

Faced with the ongoing industry challenge to optimize storage space and significantly reduce daily operating costs (OPEX), Danone recognized the need for a technological leap. To achieve this, Danone chose BALYO as its strategic automation partner. We are thrilled to announce that BALYO has been officially selected by the Danone group to fully equip and modernize a major plant located in the north of France.

Over the course of 2023, BALYO will deploy a state-of-the-art fleet of ten "REACHY" robots on this crucial site. REACHY, our advanced autonomous reach truck, is specifically engineered to excel in demanding, high-density warehousing environments. By utilizing breakthrough, infrastructure-free navigation technology, these robots will seamlessly integrate into Danone's existing layout without the need for disruptive facility modifications.

The core objective of this ambitious deployment is to entirely automate the complex storage and shipping of pallet operations for one of Danone's most important manufacturing sites. By transitioning these high-volume, repetitive tasks to a robotic fleet, Danone will unlock unprecedented levels of operational efficiency. The REACHY robots will allow the facility to maximize its vertical storage capabilities, safely navigate narrow aisles, and ensure the continuous, damage-free movement of goods from production lines directly to the shipping docks.

This landmark partnership underscores BALYO’s unique ability to meet the rigorous demands of global industry leaders, paving the way for the factory of the future.
