BALYO’s tuggy AGV/AMR is primarily used to pull carts or trailers form one station to another in a manufacturing setting. With smart trailer interfacing, Tuggy can now work with automatic trailers to hitch & unhitch when needed providing true autonomy.
Tuggy is engineered to elevate material deliverability in manufacturing and production environments. This allows warehouses to bring materials when needed, and also bring materials only when needed, unlocking warehouse to be fully optimized.
With the capability to seamlessly integrate with existing and new automation systems such as machines and doors, Tuggy efficiently manages all carts & trailer movements, including inter-building goods transport. This allows warehouses to reallocate resources to more value-added tasks, further enhancing productivity and operational excellence.
Equipped with PL-D safety sensors, Tuggy ensures optimum safety in operations, in full autonomous warehouse as well as cobotic environment. These state-of-the-art safety features detect obstacles and humans, ensuring secure robot movements with precision and accuracy.
Furthermore, a 2D curtain lidar positioned atop guarantee safety by detecting obstacles and depending upon the distance, dynamically stop or reduce speed while waiting for the obstacle to be cleared.

Tuggy maneuvers using navigation lidar placed on top of the robot that uses BALYO’s fully developed proprietary navigation, which is based on the SLAM algorithm. This state-of-the-art algorithm, perfected with BALYO’s years of research & development, Tuggy can be integrated into facilities without requiring any additional infrastructure like reflectors, lasers, magnets, or QR codes.
While the robot is moving, it performs a 360° scan of its environment, correlating in real time what it sees (using LIDAR) to what it knows (the reference map), and localizing itself to pinpoint accuracy.
BALYO’s Tuggy surpasses traditional tugger trucks, serving diverse industrial applications.
